Understanding the history of important events through the ages of Amalthea is sometimes best understood by looking at a timeline. As such, this timeline was compiled with dates to the best of the understanding of the scholars at Quatrograde.

Years are measured first by age, then by the year within, so the year 0'0 would be the dawn of the universe, with 1'0 being the dawn of the first age etc. There are three major eras of history in Amalthea: The Time of Chaos, The Common Light and The Modern World, though these are often simply referenced sequentially as the First, Second and Third Ages.

First Age

The first age occupies a dark period of history almost inconceivably deep in the past that all dates listed are strictly hypothetical, and extrapolated from religious texts that are often contradictory. Specific years are to be taken as approximations in this era. This era is known as the Time of Chaos.

Second Age

The second age is thought to have lasted approximately 26,000 years, beginning after the Time of Chaos and ending with the modern age. The Second Age is most commonly referred to as The Common Light.

Third Age

The third age, our modern times, are defined by the rise of the Five Kingdoms of Man and the legacy of war that went into defining those boarders. Without the guidance of the Tuatha and the Elder Races

Alternative Timekeeping

In some regions of Amalthea, time is measured using alternative landmarks. Most prevalent in the Cthonic Remains where the celestial movements make years hard to track, or in deep realms where celebration of the coming of light is not acknowledged.

Mag Duinn

In the realm of Mag Duinn, time has only been tracked since the arrival of the Primordial Nazerack, marking the years since this disruption as After Calamity, stylized as AC' followed by the year. A brief timeline of important events cataloged in the realm is listed below.

  • AC'00 - Salvadaro Harbin Glumbo establishes the holy city of Scathanna and takes the throne as Lord of the Lands.
  • AC'00 - Francisco D'Albergaria commissions the construction of a massive estate on the hill outside of Aldeia de Raiz.
  • AC'17 - Gustavo Corvinho is born in the village of Aldeia de Espiga.
  • AC'40 - Loro D'Albergaria slays his entire family and is hanged.
  • AC'110 - Mithá De Cabra moves his family into the abandoned D'Albergaria Estate.
  • AC'120 - On the 80th anniversary of the D'Albergaria slaying, Mithá De Cabra murders his family, with only the infant Francis Ferrugento remaining unaccounted for.
  • AC'200 - The spectral ship of the damned O Nazerack Expresso crashes in the outlands outside of Aldeia de Raiz, stranding a group of strangers and Lord Glumbo in the rural village.
  • AC'200 - The Hag Theda Vidigueira is slain in the D'Albergaria estate before she sacrifices the Lord and Lady of the Mag Duinn to the house.
