The Western Pools

High in a volcanic caldea in the Serra da Vigília, just outside the village of Conexão lies the massive hot spring complex known in modernity as The Western Pools; more formally and historically, these are known as Caldas da Bástea.
Legend says that the goddess of healing and water, Bástea, was born of the spring. These same legends claim that the nearby village was initially populated by pilgrims who ascended the rugged mountains seeking the healing properties of the hot spring.
Records show that, since the late era of the Second Age, a bathhouse has been present along the eastern coast of the spring, though it is uncertain as to whether it has always been dedicated to Bástea.
The temple, however, was constructed by São Tomé in 3'3218 as a home base for the priest of the Western Pools.
This pool is a crucial location to a number of stories; key among them is the romance of Bixo das Flores and Adeline das Flores - former priestess of the pools. This meeting is also a pivotal moment in the foundation of the Fellowship of the Seven Petals. In the Valley, these are names that almost eclipse the goddess to whom these pools belong. As such, this is a deeply important site for those who dwell in Iberys - and in Amalthea in general.
