Cabeca de Corvo
The Cabeca de Corvo is a tavern and inn situated on the western edge of the Mag Duinn village of Aldeia de Espiga, serving as the first landmark travelers reach when they traverse The Outlands between Aldeia de Raiz and Espiga.
Constructed in AC'143 by Gustavo Corvinho, patriarch of the Família do Corvinho. Citizens of Espiga believed the construction of the inn would be the monument to young Gustavo's hubris that finally sunk him. This was, however, only one piece of a complicated plan for the city's prosperity. While the tavern was being constructed, Gustavo was also working to establish a robust trade route to both import and export goods from the isolated village.
With wagons and travelers coming and going from the village with a high frequency, the Inn became a highly lucrative venture, once again proving that Gustavo was a savvy businessman with great foresight. This increased trade with the outside realm also brought prosperity to the local farmers, who suddenly had disposable income to spend on ale and food at the tavern.
Since then, the Cabeca de Corvo, or, The Crow's Head as it is called by locals, has become a point of pride in the village. Even, or maybe especially, after the disappearance of Gustavo. Claudia, his widow, entrusted the management of the inn to the youngest child, Tristan. Though he wasn't as shrewd as his father, he is a kind and relatable young man who rarely charges the locals for their merriment.
The Siege of the Gourdhead Manherd
In AC'200 during the great blight of Espiga, a group of travelers were seeking refuge in the Crow's Head when a militia of Sweepers, disgusting homunculi born of the tainted crops, stormed the tavern, somehow getting through the reinforced door. This manherd attempted to abduct one of the visitors, Vicente Anbrosio, and easily dispatched a number of the group in doing so.
However, the group fought against the intrusion fiercely, somehow overpowering the opposition without letting a single one of them escape with their lives. Though the only witnesses to this feat were those involved in fighting off the invaders, the tale has been adopted into the lore of local legend.
