Diona Sedehana
Santa Diona Sedehana was a high priestess of the Cthonic god of death and decay, Múnla. Much of her life and career remains a mystery lost to time, but a record of her pilgrimage on the Holy Road survived the purges of the early days of the third age, giving historians a rare glimpse into the lives of the Tuatha of The Common Light. Because she is tied so closely to the struggles of the wanderer, she has become the patron saint of the Pilgrim.
Early Life
Diona was born in Khreiss, though she left the city when she was only three years old with her family to relocate to Abadine. It was here that Diona first learned of and developed a macabre fascination with the Cthonic God from the whispers of passing nomadic merchants. When her secret shrine was discovered, her parents kicked her out of their home and she was left to fend for herself.
Hitching a ride with a compassionate trader, she journeyed to Múnla's shrine and volunteered as an attendant. Her devotion quickly caught the eye of the Overseer, who advanced her to acolyte and, within short order, recommended her for ascension to the clergy as a priestess.
She was conditionally approved to take the position as a priestess, assuming she could survive the pilgrimage of the Holy Road - a trial all priests of the lord of decay must make before they are granted their title. She eagerly accepted the challenge, fully understanding that most who embark on this journey in His service rarely survive.
