dona inez
Dona Inez is an old woman from Bairro de Tela, the textile district of Conexão, a small mountain village in the capital district of Iberys. She was already into her late 70's when a strange woman arrived at her door clutching an infant. Though the woman would vanish at some point during the night, the child remained and Inez did her best to provide for the baby.

Having grown up poor and spent her life working for meager wages in a textile factory, Inez - already well into her retirement - was ill-equipped to care for a child, but the woman did the best she could. She raised Lina humbly, and taught her to spool thread and yarn. The two of them picked up extra work to offset the expenses. Life was difficult, but tender.

In 3'3237 the orphan told Dona Inez of a troubling dream she had; one that seemed beyond the scope of a typical nightmare. Seeking consul about this development, she asked around town, sharing small details of the dream. It wasn't long before these details reached the ears of Marçal Passante, who brought his closest friend Bixo das Flores to speak with the child.

It was no surprise, then, when Bixo returned again to ask Lina to accompany them on a dangerous mission. Not without fear, and not without love, Inez consented to this mission - feeling that this is what the child was called to do. Her faith was well placed; not only did Lina return safely, but Bixo and his partner - former priestess of The Western Pools - Adeline das Flores decided to adopt Lina and raise her as their child.

Furthermore, Dona Inez was invited to join them in the House of Blossoms, where she spent the remainder of her days living comfortably among the gardens and feasting on Frida's cooking.

Inez passed in her sleep in 3'3241; Adeline held a ceremony in Conexão where the woman was honored by her community and interred in a small family lot outside the bairro.
